Delivery & Returns

How we send parts out, how to send one back, and what our warranty does and does not cover. This page forms part of our terms and conditions of sale.

Delivery

Where we deliver

We deliver anywhere on the UK mainland. For the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, or any address outside the UK, contact us before ordering — we quote those separately, and there are parts we cannot send at all.

Dispatch and lead times

Orders placed before 12pm on a working day are normally dispatched the same day. We are open Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00, and do not dispatch at weekends or on bank holidays.

Once dispatched, expect:

  • Most parts1–2 working days with DHL
  • Engines, gearboxes, doors, bonnets and tailgates3–4 working days on a pallet with UK Pallets
  • Bumpers, dashboards, wings and other body panels4–7 working days with Evri

These are estimates rather than promises, and heavy items slip more often than parcels do. If we have not delivered within 30 days of your order, you can cancel it and we will refund you in full.

Delivery charges

The charge for your order is shown, including VAT, before you pay. Pallet items cost more to send than parcels.

Pallet deliveries

Engines, gearboxes and panels travel by pallet, delivered kerbside on a working day between 08:30 and 17:30. We confirm the date with you in advance. Somebody needs to be there to receive and sign for it. If the delivery fails because nobody is available, the pallet comes back to us, and sending it out again costs £25, payable before we redespatch.

Damage or loss in transit

The part is our responsibility until it reaches you. If it arrives damaged, or does not arrive, we will replace it or refund you — settling that with the courier is our job, not yours.

Please check the part before signing for it, and if you have not been able to, sign for it as unchecked. Tell us as soon as you can, ideally within 48 hours, so we can claim against the courier. Telling us later does not remove your rights below; it only makes the courier claim harder.

Collection

You are welcome to collect from Unit 109, Petherton Road, Bristol BS14 9BZ, Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00. Collection is free and you can inspect the part before you take it.

Cancelling an order

If you are buying as a consumer rather than for a business, you can change your mind. You have 14 days from the day you receive the part to tell us you are cancelling — no reason needed — and a further 14 days after that to get it back to us.

We refund the price of the part and the standard delivery you paid, within 14 days of the part reaching us, or of you showing proof that you have sent it. If you chose a faster or more expensive delivery service, we refund the standard rate.

Returning it is at your cost, and for a pallet item that can be a significant sum, so ask us for a quote before sending it. We may reduce your refund if the part has been fitted, used or damaged beyond what was needed to check it — handling it as you would in a shop is fine, fitting it to a car is not.

To cancel, phone 07521 245131 or email fordsparesuk@gmail.com. You are welcome to use this wording:

To Fordhelp Limited, Unit 109, Petherton Road, Bristol BS14 9BZ (fordsparesuk@gmail.com): I cancel my contract for the sale of the following part — [part and order number], ordered on [date], received on [date]. [Your name, your address, and today's date.]

This right is a consumer right and does not apply to business buyers.

Faulty, wrong or misdescribed parts

Separate from cancelling, and it applies whether or not the warranty below has run out:

  • Within 30 days of delivery you can reject a faulty part and have a full refund.
  • After 30 days we will repair or replace it. If we cannot, or that does not fix the problem, you can have a refund, which may be reduced to reflect the use you have had.
  • For the first six months it is for us to show the fault was not there on delivery, rather than for you to show it was.

We pay return carriage on faulty parts. Used parts are judged against what is reasonable for their age, mileage, price and description, but they must still be as described, in working order, and fit for the job.

Warranty

Every part carries a 90-day warranty from the day you receive or collect it, in addition to the rights above. It covers the part we sold you, within the UK, for the person who bought it. If a covered part fails, we replace it, or refund you if we have no replacement.

Engines

Engine means the block, cylinder head and its components, crankshaft, bearings, connecting rods, pistons and camshafts. The warranty covers a failure of those that leaves the engine unusable. Ancillaries attached to it — turbo, injectors, sensors, alternator, pumps — are not covered by the engine warranty.

We ship engines, gearboxes and differentials dry. Fill with the grade of oil the manufacturer specifies before starting, and renew the timing belt or chain kit, oil and filters at the same time: a worn timing belt is the most common reason a sound engine fails.

Gearboxes

Gearbox means the casing and the gears, shafts and bearings inside it. Clutch, flywheel, sensors, linkages, driveshafts and differential are not covered.

Other parts

Covers the part named in the listing. Two things are normal rather than faults: ECUs and control modules usually need coding to your vehicle, and steering racks, wheel hubs, slam panels and propshafts may arrive partly dismantled to meet courier size limits.

Conditions

  • Fitted by a VAT-registered garage, and keep the invoice — we ask for it on a claim.
  • Oil, filters and timing components renewed on fitting, where relevant.
  • Security markings intact.

What it does not cover

  • Incorrect fitting or poor workmanship
  • Failure of an ancillary part rather than the part we sold
  • Running without oil or coolant, or overheating
  • Gasket and seal failure, unless the gasket or seal is the part we sold
  • Modification, dismantling or tampering beyond what fitting requires
  • Fire, theft, accident, malicious damage, and normal wear

It covers the part and nothing beyond it — not fitting or labour, removal and refitting, recovery, car hire, loss of earnings, accommodation or onward travel, or any other loss arising from the failure.

These conditions apply to the 90-day warranty, which we give voluntarily. They do not cut down your statutory rights: if you are a consumer, we will not insist on a VAT-registered garage before honouring those.

Business and trade customers

If you are buying for a business, the cancellation right above does not apply — it is a consumer right. We will usually accept a change-of-mind return by agreement, but carriage is yours and we may charge for handling. The 90-day warranty applies as set out above, and our liability is limited to the price you paid for the part.

How to return a part

  1. Contact us first, on 07521 245131 or fordsparesuk@gmail.com, and we will give you a return reference and the address to use. Parts sent back without one cannot be matched to your order.
  2. Repack securely, in the original packaging where you still have it, with the invoice inside.
  3. Leave the security markings in place. Every part is marked before it leaves us, both visibly and invisibly, and we check the marking on any return. If one is missing or has been altered, we may not be able to confirm the part is the one we sent, which can delay or reduce your refund. Cleaning a part before fitting it is fine — if you have had to, tell us, and we will usually be able to identify it another way.

Refunds go back to the card or account you paid from.

Complaints

Phone 07521 245131 or email fordsparesuk@gmail.com and we will acknowledge it within one working day. If we cannot put things right between us, we will write to you with our final position and tell you whether we are willing to use an alternative dispute resolution scheme.
