Privacy Policy
What we collect when you contact us or buy a part, why we hold it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
Jekis is a trading name of Fordhelp Limited, registered in England and Wales (company no. 08293554) at Unit 109, Petherton Road, Bristol BS14 9BZ. We are the data controller for the information described here, and we are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under reference ZA860558.
To ask anything about this notice, or to exercise any of the rights below, phone 07521 245131 or email fordsparesuk@gmail.com.
What we collect and why
When you contact us
If you ring or email us about a part, we hold your name, your phone number or email address, and what you asked about — usually the vehicle and the part. We use it to answer you, and to pick up the conversation again if you come back to us. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in dealing with enquiries.
When you buy a part
We hold your name, delivery and billing address, phone number, email address, and the details of what you bought and paid. We use it to take the order, get the part to you, deal with a return or a warranty claim, and keep the accounting records we are required to keep. Our lawful bases are performance of our contract with you and, for the tax records, our legal obligations.
Card details never reach us. Payment is handled by our payment provider, who takes them directly and tells us only whether the payment succeeded.
How you use the site
We count page views ourselves, on our own server: the pages visited, the referring site, whether the phone number was tapped, the browser type, and an approximate location worked out from the network address. We use it to see which parts people look for and to fix what is not working, on the basis of our legitimate interest in running the site sensibly.
There is no Google Analytics here and no third-party tracking of any kind. Nothing about your visit is shared with anybody, or used to build a profile of you, or joined up with your activity on other websites.
Server logs
Our hosting keeps the usual technical logs, including network addresses, to keep the site available and secure. We rely on our legitimate interest in the security of the service.
Who we share it with
Only where it is needed to do the job:
- Couriers — DHL, UK Pallets and Evri get the name, address and phone number needed to deliver
- Our payment provider — to take and, where necessary, refund payment
- Our accountant, and HMRC — for the statutory accounting records
- Our hosting and email providers — who hold the data on our behalf under contract
We also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim. We do not sell your data, share it for anyone else's marketing, or send it outside the UK or the European Economic Area.
How long we keep it
- Order and accounting records — 6 years after the end of the tax year they fall in, which is the period HMRC requires
- Enquiries that did not lead to an order — about 12 months
- Page-view records — about 12 months
Where a warranty claim or dispute is running, we keep what relates to it until it is settled.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of the information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or hand it to another provider. You can object to processing we do on the basis of legitimate interests. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
Phone 07521 245131 or email fordsparesuk@gmail.com. We answer within one month, and there is no charge.
Cookies
The site sets only the cookies it needs to work — remembering what is in your basket and keeping the checkout secure. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, which is why you are not asked to agree to any. If that ever changes, we will ask first and you will be able to say no.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the basket and checkout will stop working if you block ours.
Complaints
Tell us first, on 07521 245131 or fordsparesuk@gmail.com, and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
